How DocuDriven helped BBNC finalize digitizing and organizing BBNC's Land Use Archives

Challenge
BBNC had spent years digitizing thousands of Land Use file folder records, but their in-house scanning only handled pages up to 11x17. Those folders also held critical large-format records — maps, oversized plans, drawings, and diagrams — all historically and legally valuable, and none fit through a standard scanner.
BBNC marked the missing large-format pages with "Large Format Document Marker" placeholders inside the PDFs, planning to insert them once resources allowed. They needed to finish the project on time, but didn't know how big the remaining effort was or who had the skills to handle the largest, most unwieldy documents.
Solution
BBNC turned to DocuDriven, which had deep experience with large-format digitization. DocuDriven scoped the project with a quick on-site analysis, then combined on-site physical scanning with off-site processing and quality control to insert the oversized documents into the existing PDFs. Pages too large for the scanner were scanned in folded sections and "map-stitched" back together to reproduce the original record.
A stringent quality control process caught and corrected irregularities at every insertion, with DocuDriven's team working alongside BBNC's Records Information Management (RIM) staff and reporting progress throughout.

Result
DocuDriven finished the project on time while processing about 15% more documents than originally estimated, and came in roughly 13% under budget. Thousands of large-format pages were digitized and successfully integrated into the original PDFs, fully text-searchable, completing a multi-department, high-profile project that carried real stakes for BBNC's Land Group charter.
DocuDriven uploaded the final digitized files directly into BBNC's SharePoint site. BBNC's Land Use records are now complete, searchable, and ready for long-term governance — no longer something Land Use personnel need to physically hunt for in a folder.
